VEN: The Volunteer Educational Network has three aims:
- First, VEN brings together professional language teachers interested in volunteer opportunities working with their fellow teachers in South East Asia. Work with your peers to help each other develop teaching and professional presentation skills.
- Second, VEN conducts workshops as a starting point for sustainable professional development for English language educators in South East Asia. VEN is a seed for future educational progress. We can only succeed when we work together with local teachers and education agencies.
- Third, VEN serves as a clearinghouse for information about education in South East Asia, helping to keep teachers in the rest of Asia and around the world informed about developments in language instruction in South East Asia. We are especially active in Thailand and Lao PDR, but hope to extend our activities to Cambodia and beyond very soon.
What can you do?
- Apply to be a volunteer or invite VEN to your area. We always need volunteers in Thailand, Lao PDR, and elsewhere.
- Present at a VEN workshop. VEN has conducted several workshops in Isaan, Thailand and sponsored presentations at LaoTESOL.
- Keep informed by browsing the rest of our website and reaching us at contact@vensite.org with your comments or questions.
